Party Poker Million-the name pretty much says it all. This poker tournament is known for its cheap buy ins and huge
rewards, with $7 million + being up for grabs in the Party Poker Million V.
Party Poker Million is associated with the World Poker Tour, a televised tournament with a massive fan base that has
drawn millions of viewers since it started airing last year. Given the affordability of Party Poker, it draws
thousands of people to its tables trying for a chance to get to the final round and hit the jackpot.

Party Poker History
PartyPoker.com was started in August 2001 and has risen to fame in association with poker guru Mike Sexton. It is
known to be the biggest online multi-player poker room in the world and can play host to more than 35,000 players
simultaneously.
The web site offers a wide variety of poker games, such as Omaha Hi and Hi-Lo, 7 Card Stud Hi, Texas Hold'em, along
with single table tournaments and multi table poker tournaments.
What makes Party Poker unique is that the table stakes can range from a couple of bucks to a couple of hundred
dollars, which is still cheaper than some poker tables.
And, Party Poker never forgets its loyal players and will often give free poker tournament entries to them.
Party Poker Million involves several qualifying rounds and semi-finals, with the winners going on to the final
tournament where the jackpot is always in the millions.
March 10 to March 17, 2002 marked the first Party Poker Million tournament, with 100 players qualifying for the game
online and 39 players buying in. Sitting at the final table were poker champion Phil Hellmuth, seasoned poker player
Kathy Liebert and Berj Kacherian, an online qualifier. It was an intense moment in poker history, and Kathy Liebert
came out on top.
Party Poker Million II was a rousing success, with 177 players taking part in Limit Hold'em. Of that group of players,
134 of them qualified for the tournament by competing online first for the seat. Things heated up when it came down to
just two players at the final table. Howard Lederer beat out Chip Jett, winning the game and over $200,000.
Party Poker Million Champions
Kathy Liebert took first place in Party Poker Million I and was the first woman to ever win $1 million in tournament
play.
Berj Kacherian went head-to-head with Kathy Liebert during the tournament and was recognized for his tough playing
techniques and achieving his first tournament payout.
Howard Lederer won Party Poker Million II and also won two tournaments during the 2003 World Poker Tour.
Phil Hellmuth has been playing the game of poker since he was 18 and has now gained the status of a millionaire and
an author. He also has holds a variety of poker titles and has written several books about the game.
Chip Jett made it all the way to final table against Howard Lederer in Party Poker Million II played a tough game,
walking away with second place and almost $200,000.

Party Poker Million V
This upcoming tournament has an even bigger prize pool than the last, sitting at an estimated $7 million. The
qualifying rounds have already started, this year with a variety of buy-in options.
The semi final winners get to advance to Party Poker Million V and have a seat in this massive tournament, a prize
that has a $12,600 value. Players are allowed to qualify for the finals more than once. If there are spaces left
over after the semi finals for the big tournament, they are available to purchase without going through the
qualifying process.
