While they don't have the fanciest graphics, the biggest tournaments, or the largest player base around, Full Tilt does a great job of offering a fun, comfortable, and friendly enviornment in which to play poker. They have a good variety of games, including 5 card draw (a home game favorite which is often overlooked by online poker rooms), the graphics are bright and 'fun', with simple sound effects that get the job done without being overbearing.
The game speed is good, the tables have well defined contrast along with easy to identify suits (no more mixing up spades and clubs when those eyes get tired), and keeping with the fun factor; you can choose your own cartoon avatar that you can change the 'emotions' of during game play (make your avatar appear happy, angry, normal or confused). The backgrounds and table images can also be changed from a cityscape to the jungle, the beach, or a few other backgrounds to best suit your tastes.

As for the amount of action on the tables - Full Tilt Poker does have a respectable number of players, but most of them are on the lower to middle-limit texas hold'em games - so this probably isn't your best bet if you're looking for blinds much higher than $5/$10. You will find some low-limit 7 Card Stud and Omaha players here as well, though Hi-Lo variants seem rather unpopular. Because it's one of the few places that offers razz - there are a number of active tables here as well.
Overall, a great place for new players to enjoy, as well as lower-limit players than enjoy a more fun, lighthearted approach to the game.
